Reportedly, members of the American division of the company feel like hiring her wasn't the smartest choice as her beauty doesn't really appeal to the European demographic.

However, her all-American look was exactly what attracted Karl Lagerfeld to her in the first place, so basically, everyone else's opinion doesn't matter.

One source adds that Karl simply "loves" her and is willing to "fire" anyone who wants to question his choice.
